Quantum-Enabled Detection of Invasive Pathogens
This project demonstrates the future of biosecurity by combining autonomous airborne eDNA sampling with cutting-edge quantum sensing technologies to enable real-time detection of invasive plant pathogens before they become established.
This project was delivered in collaboration with the The University of Queensland's ARC Centre of Excellence in Quantum Biotechnology (QUBIC), the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI)and The Department of Industry, Science and Resources
Early interception of invasive plant pathogens requires shifting beyond delayed laboratory testing toward real-time, ultra-high-sensitivity continuous field detection.
Delivered a successful Critical Technologies Challenge Program (Round 2) project by integrating our DXS-1800 airborne eDNA samplers with cutting-edge quantum sensing technology. The system leverages mass photometry and structural fingerprinting to form a novel single-protein detection platform.
Validated the technical feasibility of an automated, real-time quantum biosecurity alert system by demonstrating highly accurate virus detection and discrimination across environmental and cultured samples.
